Creative Journey

It all began with crafting the novel (in German), while attending a one-year class for professional writing. Arthur Grieselgrimm just forced itself into my thoughts and feelings, demanding to be written, looked at, and understood. He's a strange fellow, this old wizard who has lived for 123 years on this planet, and is still afraid to dream. Even though giving dreams to others has been his main work all this time.

The writing phase took me two and a half years, plus half a year of creative pause. I could have made it less - but I wanted to do the best and most honest work I could.

Editing took another few months.

The novel is currently published in German only. I am dreaming of a translation into English, though.

Crafting Visual Narratives

Then it was time to design the characters. I went for a stylized, whimsical design, that would allow me to bring out the personality of fictional characters through exaggeration. This way, you tell a lot about someone, without the need for words.
